Jennah's Short Comic

She cracks me up!

Oh. And not for nothing, Luke just handed me a Certificate of Achievement for performance verification. He got the speaker system IN MY CAR up to 134.7 dB at 0 Hz (whatever that means). All I know is that it's freaking loud!!!

He Tried to Behave

We have a mouse! Unwanted, I might add. He's been around for quite some time. I scared him one evening when I went out to garage and turned the light on rather suddenly. I think he may have fallen into the garbage can. Oops.

There weren't a whole lot of signs of having a critter. He's been rather tidy. He tries not to poop all over the house, but I could swear he has peed in the oven on more then one occasion. TMI?? I know!!!!

Anyway, I looked and looked for the good ol' fashion mouse traps and NO ONE CARRIES THEM!!!! What is going on here??? Is this all part of some "animal cruelty protest"???? Seriously? This has been a long drawn out process. I'd remember to look for a trap when I ventured into a store that might have them... I'd not find anything... I'd forget about our critter for another week... I'd be reminded again when I'd actually see him trying to sneak by the dog who is usually sprawled out in the hallway. That little rascal has even ducked into my room a few times. I've seen him wind his way behind the frig and around the bottom of the cabinets. Ayi!

So, finally Terry was able to find some mouse traps--the sticky kind. Well, they are supposed to get the critter stuck on the gel part and then it anesthetizes them to sleep or something like that. I think it's really stupid! Well, this morning T found one very little guy in one of "the traps". It wasn't our familiar aquaintance we so lovingly call Ratitoulle. It was a baby!

Dang it! You mean Ratitoulle went and had a family????
We are very upset about this!

We may have been a little loud...

We had a bit of a music fest. It made my ears hurt a little.
The kids couldn't handle all the fun we were having and decided to take a ride into town.

We had our infamous muscle contest.

Raul laughed the hardest... and loudest... and most.

We pride ourselves on being one of the most diverse cliques ever. Our ages range from 24 to 58. We're multi cultural. We range from single to divorced, engaged to married, with children to no children. Our religious beliefs vary. Our upbringings vary.

Some of us drink...

...some don't.

And somehow, we are like one big happy family.

But what is it that keeps us coming back together?

I think its our committment to humor and good times. And that just rolls into every other aspect of our lives. And our competitive streak.

The bluestone patio is looking fine!

It was a Happy Pre-Memorial Day!

More progress... sore, sore muscles!

I was out front burrying pipe while out back...

We're Having a Party

So it's a good thing that our yard is looking so FINE!!!
Here's the pool! ALMOST READY!!!
It's very... natural looking.

And Old Faithful wishes very much not to die. Every year she continues to put forth something, no matter what kind of construction debris is place upon her, or whether or not she's been pruned.
Ya gotta admit, we Are FANCY people. Just look at this piece of pottery that recently arrived. (I'm not sure what to do with it, but it's all ours for the taking).
Purty!
We have a lovely new drain with an eight foot drywell under it. The boys were trying to lower each other into it just to see how deep it was. That's a little scary. I was kind of thinking about Joseph in the Bible when his brothers left him for dead in a well, and ended up selling him into slavery. YIKES!

Luckily we have a very LUSH lawn. It's going to be even better once the irrigation gets installed. Too many projects, not enough time.

The Rhodies have decided to give forth a few blossoms. Hooray!

Irrigation trenches and dandelions.

It does kind of look like we have an R.U.S. (rodent of unusual size) in the yard.

I'm an expert gardener!

I love perrenials because they tend to come back every year--no matter what gets place over top of them.

The marigolds are new. Elizabeth planted them for mother's day.
The Day Lillies are the hardiest of all, I think.

The butterfly bush has a new layer of stone dust coating them. I'm sure that makes them happy.
It won't be long before these lovely plants will find some fresh ground and wonderful treament from their expert garden mama.
But really... the patio is almost completely laid! YAAAAAAAAY!!!! And we are really having a party this weekend, but the peeps have been warned to ignore the construction debris (and I did mow... kind of).

Skateboarding Out Front

Remember that skateboard ramp the boyz built last summer?
Yesterday, I went outside with my camera to take photos of my BEAUTIFUL PLANTS and GARDENS, but the boyz called me over to take pictures of them on their skateboards. Can't pass up that opportunity, right?

Nate's got some tricks he can do. Don't even ask me the names...

Luke likes to experiment on the ramp...
Gabe and his cousin were only interested in watching.

More tricks...

Oh how graceful... he should have been a dancer.
Nailed it!
Oops!

Suhweet.
Look at those muscles on Luke!! 13" biceps. He measured yesterday.
Gabe...
Whoops!
What happened to the board? (and yes that is a tank being used underneath the ramp to hold it in place--ho hum).

Skateboarding in the road!!! Gotta love that.
Go Luke!

What's it gonna be like around here next year when he's off at college?
